STP / WTP Plant Operation

• STP/WTP plant operations by trained operators as per OEM recommendations and treated water quality meets the standards prescribed by pollution control board.

• Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) treats the sewage produced from various establishments to make it safe for disposal. It performs physical, chemical, and biological processes to remove contaminants and produce treated wastewater that is safe enough to dispose of into the environment.

• A water treatment plant operator is responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of drinking water supplied to homes and businesses. They are responsible for operating and maintaining various equipment and processes in water treatment plants, such as sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection.

Water Treatment Plant Operator Responsibilities

1. Operate and monitor water treatment equipment and processes to ensure the delivery of clean and safe drinking water to the community.

2. Perform regular inspections and tests on water samples to monitor the quality of treated water, including pH levels, chlorine levels, turbidity, and other parameters.

3. Adjust treatment processes and equipment settings as necessary to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

4. Maintain accurate records of water treatment plant operations, including daily logs, test results, chemical usage, and maintenance activities.

5. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on water treatment equipment, such as pumps, valves, filters, and chemical feed systems.

6. Analyse data and trends to identify issues or potential improvements in the water treatment process, and implement necessary corrective actions.

7. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines, such as those set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and any local or state agencies.

8. Respond to emergencies or equipment malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize disruption to the water treatment process and prevent any impact on public health.

9. Collaborate with other operators and maintenance staff to coordinate plant operations and maintenance activities.

10. Stay updated on the latest advancements in water treatment technology and regulations to ensure continuous improvement in plant operations.
